Are You a Righty or Lefty? To determine whether your right or left eye is your dominant sighting eye, hold a piece of paper with a 1-inch hole in the centre, with both hands at arms length. With both eyes open sight a distant object through the hole. Move the paper slowly toward your face. Which eye is looking through the hole? That is your dominant eye.

History of FYi

FYi as a concept was initiated in the Spring of 2006. A group of independent Canadian Optometrists reflected on the existing direction of the eye care industry. The goal was to develop a national entity that was under the direction of Eye Doctors that would facilitate the delivery of high quality eye care services and treatments. On April 1st, 2008 the transition of these practices into the amalgamated structure of FYi was realized.
