  • Visual field testing

*May vary by patient need and location.

FYidoctors Advanced Diagnostic Tests and Equipment

Optomap

Typical eye exams include an assessment of the eyes to evaluate health and prescription changes. A screening of the retina is critical to verify the health of your eyes. To enable this, most FYidoctors locations now employ an Optomap Retinal Scanner, which provides an ultra-wide, digital image that allows a 200 degree view of the retina in a single capture. This view gives our doctors the ability to assess a MUCH wider area of the retina, including the entire back of the eye, in magnified high resolution. Use of the Optomap Retinal Scanner can enable early detection of common diseases, such as glaucoma, diabetes, macular degeneration, and even cancer. The exam is quick, painless, and may not require dilation drops.

Our doctors have been thrilled with the capabilities of Optomap in assisting with detection, monitoring and treatment of eye disease and is included in our comprehensive eye exams.**

Spectralis HRA + OCT

FYidoctors is proud to employ the Spectralis HRA+OCT. This specialized equipment allows our doctors to see all ten layers of your retina and optic nerve in a digital 3-D image with resolution of 1micron (approximately 1/100 the width of a human hair!). This tool has proven to be invaluable in the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. Utilizing these detailed images allows our doctors to provide a more accurate diagnosis and thus determine appropriate treatment options more efficiently.

Medmont Topography System for Designing Custom Contact Lenses

FYidoctors employ the Medmont Corneal Topography system to assist in designing custom contact lenses. A custom contact lens can mean a better fit with superior vision for patients that have not had success with generic contact lenses or who have eye conditions that require highly customized contact lens designs. Medmont Corneal Topography is also essential in designing contact lenses for patients that are have keratoconus, had previous eye surgery, or have corneal curvatures outside of normal limits.
